Jan
Krammer has been organizing and leading student
and adult tours in Europe since 1989. A former language teacher
in Texas schools, she is skilled at providing lively and
fascinating dimensions to her tours. She speaks English,
German, French, and Italian, and is a lifelong student of
European art, culture, and history. She will lend her expertise
and experience to assist you in smoothing the linguistic
path, in finding interesting, out-of-the-way places, or in
visiting landmarks and art treasures
Helen
Vaughan Simpson is a historian with a concentration
in France and western Europe. She has directed high school
and university tours and has a wide experience in assisting
with custom-designed travel arrangements for independent
travelers. She is the former director of a university Study
Abroad program with special skills for introducing cultural
and historical information to groups. Her passion for Paris
and her background in the arts give her tours an especially
rich cultural dimension. She will arrange independent itineraries
and escort you on walks around the city and in the museums,
showing you hidden faces of Paris in both the past and the
present.
Gérard
Chétrit has lived and worked in Paris for
over twenty years. His mastery of American English developed
at the Lycée Français in New York City, where
he graduated from High School. His years in New York when
his father was attached to the French diplomatic delegation
at the United Nations gave him an abiding admiration and
understanding of Americans and a desire to introduce them
to his homeland. Gérard will guide you to the wonders
of Paris and its environs with charm and a passion for showing
to others the many facets of the French experience, from
restaurants to chateaux to museums and landmarks. With him
you can discover delights in the city and around it that
few guidebooks reveal.
Arnold
Krammer is a well-known historian of the twentieth century.
His numerous books and articles address such topics as the First
and Second World Wars, the Spanish Civil War, and Nazism. He
is the specialist for tours of battlefields, museums, and monuments
of these huge conflicts. He has guided student and adult tours
in France, Italy, Austria and Eastern Europe. Arnold will assist
you in developing an itinerary, entertain you as you learn about
it, and locate interesting sidelights along the way.
Amos
Simpson is a charming and knowledgeable historian
with a specialty in Modern European History, particularly
Germany, France and Great Britain in the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries. He lives in Paris part of every year and has extensive
experience in coordinating and directing European travel.
He is a wine expert as well as an experienced tour guide
and will share with you his wide knowledge of the wine areas
of France. He has guided tours for individuals from sixteen
to seventy and will make your experience of the city interesting
and particularly insightful.
